USE OF RESIN MORTAR OF EPOXY IN THE NEW PUEYRREDON BRIDGE OVER EL RIACHUELO

EPOXY, VINYL RESINS, POLYURETHANE RESINS, POLYVINYL RESINS, ETC. HAVE A GREAT VARIETY OF APPLICATIONS IN THE TRANSPORTATION FIELD SUCH AS: (1) A SUBSTITUTE FOR PORTLAND CEMENTS BY A RESIN ACTING AS A BINDER (OR A MORTAR, OR A RESIN CEMENT); (2) THE ADDITION OF THE RESIN TO HYDRAULIC BINDER, TO PRODUCE A CEMENT OF MORTAR OF MIXED BINDER; (3) AS AN ADDITIVE IN THE MORTAR OR CEMENT, MODIFYING OR/AND REINFORCING CERTAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MIXTURE; (4) A RESIN BINDER, TO BIND HARDENED CONCRETES. THE EXPERIMENT DESCRIBES EPOXY RESIN MORTAR ACTIVATED WITH A POLYAMIDE AND SHOWS THE RATIONAL USE OF THE MORE USEFUL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MATERIAL. IT ALLOWS FOR AN EFFICIENT TECHNICAL SOLUTION, AND ALSO REDUCES THE COST AND EASES THE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS. TESTS WERE MADE ON RENOVATING DETERIORATION MADE BY FISSURES AND CREVICES IN DRIED PILES. STRUCTURAL FITNESS OF THE TREATED PIECES WAS RESTORED BY THE RENOVATION. THE RESIN WAS PROVED TO BE SATISFACTORY. WHEN A STABILITY PROBLEM ARISES, THE RENOVATION MUST BE DONE ONLY THROUGH THE JUDGEMENT AND THE STANDARDS GIVEN BY AN ENGINEER WHO HAS KNOWLEDGE ON MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY ./RRI/
