CEMENT MORTARS MODIFIED WITH POLYVINYLACETATE EMULSION
THE AUTHOR RECALLS THE FACT THAT INSUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF THE INTERACTION OF POLYMER AND CEMENT ON THE STRUCTURE OF POLYMER-CEMENT MIXTURES PREVENTS THE POSSIBILITY OF COUNTERACTING THE ADVERSE EFFECTS (PARTICULARLY SHRINKAGE) RESULTING FROM THE ADDITION OF THE EMULSION. HE ASSESSES THE RESULTS OF TESTS CARRIED OUT ON CEMENT MORTARS MODIFIED WITH POLYVINYL ACETATE EMULSION. THE INFLUENCE OF THE EMULSION ON FLEXURAL AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, ELASTIC MODULUS AND SHRINKAGE IS DESCRIBED TOGETHER WITH THE EFFECTS OF THE RELATIVE MOISTURE IN THE MEDIUM AND THE SOFTENING OF THE POLYMER ON THE CEMENT MORTAR. THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CEMENT MORTAR DURING CURING IS ALSO STUDIED. /RRL/LCPC/A/
