NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING, INSPECTION AND EXAMINATION
THE PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY IS TO DEVELOP A MASS PLAN FOR NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING INCLUDING THE GENERATION OF NEW CONCEPTS AND TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS. PANELS OF EXPERTS ARE INVESTIGATING 5 PROBLEM AREAS: (1) DEFINITION OF PROBLEM AREA AND APPROACHES FOR SOLVING THEM, (2) IDENTIFICATION OF SPECIAL PHENOMENA (UNEXPLORED OPPORTUNITIES, NEW METHODS, AND ADAPTATION OF TECHNIQUES), (3) COMPILATION OF INFORMATION, (4) PROMOTION AND EDUCATION AIMED AT DESIGNERS AND MANAGEMENT AND EDUCATORS IN UNIVERSITIES, AND (5) SPECIFICATIONS. TO DATE ONE PANEL TO UNCOVER NOVEL APPROACHES HAS MET BRINGING TOGETHER EXPERTS IN SUCH FIELDS AS RADIATION, LASERS, HOLOGRAPHY, ULTRAVIOLET, MOSSBAUER EFFECTS, AND SYSTEMS ANALYSIS.
