STATISTICAL ESTIMATES OF THE QUALITY OF ROAD PAVEMENTS

A METHOD IS PRESENTED BASED ON STATISTICAL CONCEPTS WHICH TAKES ACCOUNT OF A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF RISK (25%) AND A CERTAIN SCATTERING OF CONTROL TEST RESULTS, AND WHICH ENABLES THE QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS USED AND THAT OF THE WORK CARRIED OUT TO BE ESTIMATED TOGETHER WITH THE MAXIMUM OR/AND MINIMUM VALUES TO BE CONSIDERED IN THE DESIGN. THE METHOD IS APPLIED TO THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS OF THE C.B.R. TEST CARRIED OUT TO DETERMINE THE DEGREE OF COMPACTION OF THE DIFFERENT LAYERS OF AN EMBANKMENT, WITH A VIEW TO QUANTIFYING THE RISK INVOLVED IN THE WORK, AND TO ESTIMATING THE ACTUAL VALUES OF THE DEGREE AND EVENNESS OF COMPACTION. /TRRL/
