A PROGRESS REPORT ON EPOXY ROAD SURFACINGS
EPOXY RESIN PAVING CEMENTS AS DIFFERENTIATED FROM BITUMINOUS CEMENTS ARE THERMOSETTING RESINS, WHICH MEANS THAT ONCE HARDENED THEY WILL NOT RESOFTEN WITH HEAT OR FROM EXPOSURE TO SOLVENTS. EPOXY RESING PAVING CEMENTS ALSO CAN PROVIDE CEMENTS WITH IMPROVED CHEMICAL, SOLVENT AND SALT RESISTANCE, LIGHT WEIGHT, GOOD ADHESION, QUICK CURE, TOUGHNESS, RESISTANCE TO FREEZE DAMAGE, CRACK RESISTANCE, AND ANTI-SKIDDING QUALITIES FOR HIGHWAY USAGE. THE EXPERIENCES OF CALIFORNIA, NEW YORK CITY, KANSAS, MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN, OHIO, AND NEW JERSEY GIVE APPLICATION, LOCATION, AND PATTERNS.
