WAVE TRANSMISSION AND MOORING FORCE TESTS ON FLOATING BREAKWATER, OAK HARBOR WASHINGTON: HYDRAULIC MODEL INVESTIGATION

A twin-pontoon floating breakwater was modeled for a prototype proposed for Oak Harbor, Washington. Chain and pile-type moorings were tested to determine the magnitude of the mooring forces, a resonant frequency comparison between wave Excitation frequencies and the natural frequency of the breakwater, and the breakwaters ability to attenuate wave action.
