ACCELERATED LABORATORY TEST FOR EVALUATING THE TOXICITY OF FUNGICIDES FOR LUMBER
TEST TECHNIQUES ARE REQUIRED BOTH TO EVALUATE NEW FORMULATIONS DEVELOPED FOR PREVENTION OF SAPSTAIN AND MOULD ON UNSEASONED LUMBER IN STORAGE AND TO PROVIDE AN INEXPENSIVE AND RAPID MEANS TO SCREEN OUT UNSUITABLE FORMULATIONS. THIS REPORT OUTLINES A LABORATORY METHOD THAT GIVES RESULTS IN THREE WEEKS WHICH ARE INDICATIVE OF THOSE OBTAINED IN LARGESCALE, OUTDOOR TESTS OVER A 12-MONTH LONG PERIOD. AN EXAMPLE IS ALSO GIVEN TO SHOW THE VALUE OF THE METHOD IN ASSESSING A NEW COMMERCIAL FUNGICIDE. /AUTHOR/
