THE RAPID IN-SITU IDENTIFICATION OF CEMENT
IDENTIFICATION RAPIDE DES CIMENTS SUR CHANTIER.
THIS ARTICLE PROPOSES A RAPID METHOD OF IDENTIFYING CEMENT IN-SITU. IT IS BASED ON THE USE OF TWO FLOCCULATING AGENTS: NITRIC ACID AND SILVER NITRATE, COMBINED WITH THE UTILIZATION OF A MAGNETIC BAR. THIS METHOD IS VERY EASY TO USE AND NECESSITATES A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF EQUIPMENT. IT DETECTS SLAG, LIMESTONE FILLER, CHLORIDE AND ASH. IN SOME INSTANCES, IT DETECTS THE PRESENCE OF POZZOLAN, AND SILICEOUS FILLER BUT DOES NOT ENABLE POZZOLAN TO BE IDENTIFIED IN THE PRESENCE OF FLY-ASH.
