DYNAMIC PLASTICITY
DYNAMIC PLASTICITY INVOLVES THE MECHANICS OF SOLID BODIES WHICH STUDIES, GENERALLY WITHOUT NEGLECTING THE INERTIA FORCES, THE RAPID DEFORMATION OF VARIOUS PLASTIC BODIES. DUE TO THE HIGH RATE OF LOADING, THE PROCESS OF DEFORMATION OCCURS THROUGH THE MECHANICS OF WAVE PROPAGATION. THUS, IN DYNAMIC PLASTICITY, ONE HAS TO CONSIDER VARIOUS KINDS OF LOADING AND UNLOADING WAVES, THEIR MECHANISM OF PROPAGATION, INTERACTION, AND REFLECTION. THERE ARE SEVERAL TECHNICAL FIELDS WHERE THE PROBLEMS OF DYNAMIC PLASTICITY ARE OF INTEREST, SUCH AS THE HIGH RATE FORMING OF METALS, RAPID DEFORMATION OF SOILS, SOME DYNAMIC PROBLEMS FOR PLASTICS AND EXTENSIBLE CABLES, ASTROBALLISTICS, ETC. /AUTHOR/
