CORROSION OF STEEL REINFORCEMENT IN POLYMER CONCRETE /IN RUSSIAN/
IN POLYMER CONCRETE WITH A FURFURAL-ACETONE MONOMER BASE AND A 5 TO 6 PH, REINFORCEMENT IS NOT SUBJECT TO CORRISION IN A DRY ATMOSPHERE. WHEN POLYMER REINFORCED CONCRETE SAMPLES ARE PRESERVED IN AN ACID ENVIRONMNET, ESPECIALLY IN REHEATED ACIDS, CORROSION OF THE REINFORCEMENT SHOWS A MARKED INCREASE. A THICKER PROTECTIVE LAYER SLOWS DOWN THE CORROSION PROCESS. WHEN POROUS AGGREGATES ARE USED, THEY MUST BE OF SMALL DIMENSIONS. POLYMER CONCRETE (FURFURAL- ACETONE, GRANITIC AGGREGATES, QUARTZ SAND) CURED IN HOT ACIDS, HAS A LOW CHEMICAL STRENGTH AND GIVES INSUFFICIENT PROTECTION TO THE REINFORCEMENT. /LCPC/RRL/
