EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH INTO THE CORROSION UNDER STRESS OF STEEL WIRE REINFORCEMENT FOR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE /UN FRENCH/

DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A SERIES OF TESTS CARRIED OUT TO SHOW THE EXTEND TO WHICH PREVIOUS TEST RESULTS CAN BE GENERALIZED. IT WAS PROVEN THAT THE PREVIOUS ASSUMPTION CONCERNING THE REDUCED RELAXATION TIME OF THE STEEL WIRE IN RELATION TO THE DURATION OF TENSILE STRESS TO WHICH THE SPECIMEN IS SUBJECTED IS CORRECT. THE UNEVEN STRUCTURE OF STEEL WIRE SECTIONS IS THE MAIN FACTOR IN RUPTURE CAUSED BY STRESS CORROSION. THE LENGTH OF TIME TO RUPTURE POINT CAN VARY FROM ONE TO THREE UNDER SIMILAR CONDITIONS OF TENSILE STRESS, TEMPERATURE, REAGENTS, AND PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE STEEL WIRE. /LCPC/A/RRL/
