THE CORROSION RESISTANCE OF ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM ARE DISCUSSED IN FIVE ENVIRONMENTS IN THE PANAMA CANAL ZONE. THE METALS STUDIED WERE ALUMINIUM 6061-T AND 1100, ALCLAD 2024-T, AND MAGNESIUM AZ31X AND AZ61Z. CORROSION OF SAMPLES EXPOSED IN VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTS FOR 16 YEARS ARE DESCRIBED. /AUTHOR/
