THE FUNDAMENTAL OBJECT IN USING HERBICIDES IS TO APPLY THE SOLUTION AT SPECIFIC RATES OF APPLICATION WITH CONSIDERATION TO COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS. SELECTION OF APPLICATION EQUIPMENT DEPENDS ON THE ASSESSMENT OF ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE BASIC FACTORS INVOLVED AND CONSIDERATION OF THE PRIME MOVER OR POWER SOURCE AVAILABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INTERESTING DEVELOPMENTS IN SPRAY NOZZLES IN RECENT TIMES AND THE FOLLOWING SELECTED GROUP OF ITEMS WILL BE OF PARTICULAR INTEREST TO PEOPLE DIRECTLY CONCERNED WITH THE PROBLEMS OF DRIFT, ACCURACY OF APPLICATION AND DIFFICULT SPRAYING CONDITIONS. MOST NEW NOZZLE EQUIPMENT IS A REFINEMENT OR MODIFICATION OF THESE BASIC TYPES: SOLID STREAM, FLAT SPRAY, HOLLOW CONE, FULL OR SOLID CONE, TWIN OUTLET NOZZLES, BROADCAST SPRAYING, EVEN TYPE FLAT SPRAYS, SPLIT EYELET NOZZLE ASSEMBLIES AND MISTING TYPE SPRAYERS. /AUTHOR/
