FINDING WORKING COLOR STANDARDS FOR MATERIALS WHICH ARE NOT STABLE, OR ARE FRAGILE, HAS LONG BEEN A PROBLEM IN ACCURATE COLOR MATCHING AND CONTROL. THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM WHICH HAS BEEN WORKED OUT FOR AN INSTRUMENTAL COLOR CONTROL PROGRAM AND CAN BE ADAPTED FOR A VARIETY OF MATERIALS WHERE STURDY, STABLE COLOR STANDARDS ARE NOT READILY AVAILABLE. /AUTHOR/
