THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF 1)- DEVELOPMENT OF A VERY FINE CONCRETE FOR PRODUCING MODELS, THE PROPERTIES OF WHICH ARE SIMILAR TO THOSE USED IN REINFORCED CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION; 2)- CARRYING OUT A SERIES OF TESTS WITH VARIOUS METALS TO DETERMINE AN EQUIVALENT BOND BETWEEN THE REINFORCEMENT AND THE VERY FINE CONCRETE OF THE MODEL, AND BETWEEN THE STEEL REINFORCEMENT AND THE NORMAL CONCRETE OF THE MAIN STRUCTURE; 3)- MANUFACTURE OF CONTINUOUS TWO-SPAN BEAMS FROM THE MATERIAL DEVELOPED IN 1), STUDY OF THE REDISTRIBUTION OF MOMENTS AND COMPARISON OF THE RESULTS WITH TESTS MADE ON REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS BY THUERLIMANN AND BACHMANN; 4)- MODEL STUDIES TO DETERMINE THE REDISTRIBUTION OF MOMENTS OF ELASTICALLY SUPPORTED CONTINUOUS PLATES BY SERIES OF MEASUREMENTS ON THE MATERIAL DEVELOPED UNDER 1). THE PERCENTAGE OF REINFORCEMENT AND THE POSITIONING OF THE REINFORCEMENT IN THE SPAN AND OVER THE SUPPORTS BOTH IN THE PLATE AND IN THE SUPPORTING BEAMS ARE TO BE VARIED. THE BEARING FORCES, STRESSES AND STRAINS, AND ROTATION AT THE SELF-ADJUSTING HINGES ARE TO BE DETERMINED.
