RESTORING THE LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY OF FAILED CAST IRON TUNNEL LININGS BY MEANS OF THE METALOCK METHOD
WIEDERHERSTELLUNG DER TRAGFAEHIGKEIT VON GERISSENEN GUSSEISERNEN TUEBBINGS NACH DEM METALOCK-VERFAHREN
A TECHNIQUE IS REPORTED FOR RESTORING THE LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY OF TORN TUNNEL SEGMENTS MADE OF CAST IRON, BY THE INTRODUCTION OF STRENGTHENING MEMBERS. THIS SO CALLED METALOCK TECHNIQUE MAY ALSO BE USED ON LOADED TUNNEL LININGS. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS METHOD WAS TESTED IN THREE FULLSCALE TESTS AT THE INSTITUTE FOR BUILDING MATERIALS AT THE FACHHOCHSCHULE, HAMBURG.
