THE SAMPLING OF BULK MATERIALS
THE PROBLEMS OF SAMPLING OF BULK MATERIALS ARE TESTED IN TWO PARTS' THE PHYSICAL ASPECTS AND AND THE STATISTICAL ASPECTS. ALTHOUGH MANY PHYSICAL MODELS ARE VERY GOOD, STATISTICS CAN CONTRIBUTE TO FURTHER IMPROVEMENT IN THE PRECISION AND ECONOMY OF SAMPLING. BULK MATERIALS AND THE COMMON METHODS OF HANDLING AND SAMPLING THEM ARE DESCRIBED. THE VARIOUS STATISTICAL METHODS THAT HAVE BEEN USED TO CONTROL SAMPLING, TO EXPERIMENT WITH WAYS OF IMPROVING SAMPLING, AND TO MEASURE THE VARIABILITY OF MATERIALS ARE ILLUSTRATED USING A WIDE REPRESENTATION OF MATERIALS. /AUTHOR/
