RATIONALIZATION AND AVOIDANCE OF STRUCTURAL DAMAGE - SAFETY CONCEPTS IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

RATIONALISIERUNG UND VERMEIDUNG VON BAUSCHAEDEN - SICHERHEITSBEGRIFFE IM BAUWESEN

THE AIM OF THE STUDIES IS TO WORK OUT A GENERALLY VALID SAFETY CONCEPT ON THE BASIS OF METHODS DESCRIBED BY VARIOUS AUTHORS AND INTERNATIONAL SPECIFICATIONS, BOTH OF WHICH WILL BE CRITICALLY ANALYSED. THE AIM IS TO DERIVE CONCEPTS WHICH CAN BE USED FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION; THE IDEAS DEVELOPED WILL BE APPLIED TO DESIGN EXAMPLES WHICH WILL BE USED TO UNDERTAKE PARAMETER STUDIES. EVALUATION OF THE RESULTS SHOULD LEAD TO A NEW SAFETY CONCEPT WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO PRACTICAL SITUATIONS.
