LOAD TESTS ON PARTIAL AREAS OF ANCHORS FOR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE

THE RESEARCH PROJECT AIMS TO SURVEY INFLUENCES ON THE STRENGTH AND CRACK BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE SUBJECTED TO LOADS ON PARTIAL AREAS. IN THE FIRST PART OF THE STUDY WHICH WAS FINANCED BY DASTB, THE RATIO OF THE PARTIAL TO THE TOTAL AREA AND THE TYPE AND QUANTITY OF THE REINFORCEMENT FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE SPLITTING TENSILE FORCES CAUSED BY PARTIAL AREA LOADING WERE VARIED. THE SECOND PART OF THE STUDY, FINANCED BY BMV (FEDERAL MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT), DEALT WITH THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS ON CONCRETE SUBJECTED TO PARTIAL AREA LOADING: WEAKENING OF CONCRETE CROSS SECTIONS BY MEANS OF CUTOUTS OF VARYING SIZE (PRESTRESSING DUCTS IN THE CASE OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE ANCHORAGES); FORM OF CROSS SECTION (RECTANGLE, SQUARE) OF PARTIALLY LOADED TEST SPECIMENS; POSITION OF THE LOADED AREA WITHIN THE TOTAL AREA. IN ADDITION, NEW TYPES OF SPLITTING TENSILE REINFORCEMENTS WERE TESTED. THE THIRD PART OF THE STUDY, AGAIN FINANCED BY DASTB, WILL DEAL WITH FURTHER TESTS ON SPLITTING TENSILE REINFORCEMENTS. UPON COMPLETION OF THE THIRD STAGE A SUMMARY REPORT WILL BE SENT TO THE FEDERAL MINISTER OF TRANSPORT.
