STUDIES OF METHODS OF PREVENTING SPALLING IN REINFORCED AND PRESTRESSED CONCRETE ELEMENTS SUBJECTED TO ATTACK BY FIRE

THE RESULTS OF THE STUDY ARE TO SERVE AS A BASIS FOR THE FURTHER REVISION OF THE GERMAN STANDARD DIN 4102 - FIRE RESISTANCE OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND ELEMENTS. THE FOLLOWING TESTS ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT: (1) TESTS WITH VARIOUS MOISTURE CONTENTS AND HEATING RATES GIVEN CONSTANT ARRANGEMENT OF REINFORCEMENT (10 - 15 TESTS); (2) TESTS WITH CONSTANT MOISTURE CONTENT BUT DIFFERENT REINFORCEMENT ARRANGEMENT (10 - 15 TESTS); (3) TESTS TO DETERMINE THE INFLUENCE OF FORCED STRESSES IN THE SYSTEM (10 TESTS); (4) TESTS WITH AGGREGATES OF VARYING MINERALOGICAL STRUCTURE (10 TESTS); (5) MINERALOGICAL TESTS (PROF. SCHUMANN); (6) SUPPLEMENTARY TESTS WITH PROTECTIVE LAYERS (PUTZE); AND (7) SUPPLEMENTARY TESTS ON THIN REINFORCED CONCRETE SLABS.
