THE USE OF COMPOUNDS WITH AN EPOXY-SILICONE BASE FOR SEALING CRACKS IN CONCRETE BY GROUTING /IN RUSSIAN/

DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE COMPOSITION OF A NEW TYPE OF BINDER WITH AN EPOXY RESIN BASE TO WHICH 0.5 TO 2 PERCENT SILICONE RESIN HAS BEEN ADDED. THIS COMPOSITE RESIN IS NOT SUBJECT TO SHRINKAGE, CAN EVEN EXPAND SLIGHTLY, IS FAIRLY FLUID AND EASILY INJECTED. ITS ADHESIVE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES COMPARE FAVORABLY WITH THOSE OF EPOXY RESIN. IF MORE THAN 2 PERCENT SILICONE IS ADDED, THE SWELLING PROPERTIES OF THIS MIXED RESIN INCREASE BUT ITS MECHANICAL AND ADHESIVE PROPERTIES DECREASE. THIS METHOD OF SEALING CRACKS PROTECTS METAL REINFORCEMENT IN REINFORCED CONCRETE AGAINST CORROSION BETTER THAN ANY OTHER COATINGS TESTED, AND AGAINST CREEP RESULTING IN CRACKING OF CONCRETE. /LCPC/RRL/
