SHEAR MODULUS MEASUREMENT IN ELASTOMER MATERIALS USED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF RUBBER BEARINGS FOR STRUCTURES

IT IS SHOWN HOW THE SHEAR MODULUS CAN BE DETERMINED IN A VULCAMETER AS THE MAIN COEFFICIENT OF ELASTOMER FOR STRUCTURAL BEARINGS. THE FACTORS WHICH LEAD TO DEVIATIONS FROM THE STATICALLY DETERMINED SHEAR MODULUS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE ARE TREATED. PROPOSALS FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF VULCAMETRIC TESTING AS 100% TEST FOR MATERIALS IN STANDARD TGL 18204/01 AND /02 ARE EXPLAINED.
