THE REMOVAL OF LIP-CURB BY DETONATING CORD
THE JACKHAMMER METHOD AND THE HYDRAULIC LIP-CURB BREAKING MACHINE METHOD ARE REVIEWED FOR REMOVING LIP-CURBS THAT WERE USED FOR CONTROLLING DRAINAGE ON PAVEMENTS SURFACES, BUT ARE NOW CONSIDERED A HAZARD. THE DETONATING CORD METHOD IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL. THE MATHY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS METHOD OF REMOVAL, APPLIED TECHNIQUES FROM STONE QUARRYING OPERATIONS WHERE A CLEAN BREAK LINE IS DESIRED. THE COSTS ARE COMPARED FOR ALL THE METHODS.
