VARIATIONS IN THE GRANULOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF REFINED CHIPPINGS

SCHWANKUNGEN DER GRANULOMETRISCHEN EIGENSCHAFTEN BEI EDELSPLITTEN

THE RESULTS OF CONTROL TESTS OF PARTICLE SIZE PROPERTIES OF CHIPPINGS FOR 32 NATURAL STONES WERE EVALUATED FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR. THE RELATION BETWEEN THE STATISTICAL QUANTITIES STANDARD DEVIATION AND MEAN VALUE WAS INVESTIGATED. THE STANDARD DEVIATION FOR OVERSIZE AND UNDERSIZE PARTICLES HAS A PARABOLIC RELATION WITH THE MEAN VALUE OF THE TESTED SIZES, AND IT CAN BE REPRESENTED APPROXIMATELY BY A COMMON EQUATION. THIS MEAN RELATION PERMITS STATEMENTS TO BE MADE ON THE SCATTER OF INDIVIDUAL VALUES FOR OVERSIZE AND UNDERSIZE PARTICLES OF CHIPPINGS FOR THE PERIOD OF A YEAR. FOR THE PARTICLE SHAPE NO CORRELATION COULD BE ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE STANDARD DEVIATION AND THE MEAN VALUE. THE RELATIONS FOUND CANNOT BE GENERALIZED. FOR THIS, FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS ARE NECESSARY.
