HYDRAULICALLY BOUND ROADBASES UNDER CONCRETE SURFACINGS ARE PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT WHEN FROST BLANKETS ARE OMITTED AND THE ROADBASE STRENGTHENED. FOR THE DESIGN OF THESE PAVEMENTS, STRENGTH WITH TIME UNDER BENDING STRESS HAS TO BE CONSIDERED. SAMPLES WHICH REPRESENT A HYDRAULICALLY BOUND BASE ACCORDING TO TVT, SHEET 3, ARE TO BE TESTED FOR STRENGTH WITH TIME UNDER BENDING TENSILE STRESS WHICH IS VARIABLE. TWO SERIES OF TESTS ARE ANTICIPATED. MATERIAL VALUES (COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, SPLITTING TENSILE STRENGTH, ELASTICITY MODULUS, CEMENT CONTENT) ARE TO BE DETERMINED FOR PURPOSES OF COMPARISON.
