STUDY OF AMBER LIGHT PROBLEMS AT JUNCTIONS WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS /IN GERMAN/
PRACTICAL ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO INCREASE THE SAFETY OF TRAFFIC FLOW BY OPERATIONAL MEANS, E. G. BY FLASHING LIGHTS, SO THAT THE CONTROL INSTALLATION ITSELF WOULD GIVE THE DRIVER THE CONDITIONS FOR SAFE BEHAVIOR ON THE APPEARANCE OF THE AMBER LIGHT. THE OBJECT OF THE RESEARCH IS A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF BEHAVIOR USING DIFFERENT FORMS OF TRANSITION, AND THE EVALUATION OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING MEASURES TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE AMBER LIGHT PROBLEMS. THE STUDY HAS SHOWN THAT THE DIFFICULTIES IN THE TRANSITION PERIOD CAN BE REDUCED BY SIMPLE MEANS, BUT FURTHER IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRE INCREASED USE OF ENGINEERING INSTALLATIONS.
