FIELD EVALUATION OF ROADWAY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE FACTORS
THE AUTHOR PRESENTS DATA COLLECTED DURING THE FIELD TESTING OF LUMINAIRES IN SERVICE IN THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA. ALL THE LANTERNS TESTED WERE 400 WATT, HORIZONTAL BURNING MERCURY, ENCLOSED AND GASKETED, AND HAD GLASS REFRACTORS. THE DATA WERE INTENDED TO AID IN THE DETERMINATION OF THREE VARIABLES WHICH CAUSE LIGHT LOSS: LAMP LUMEN DEPRECIATION, LUMINAIRE DIRT DEPRECIATION AND REFLECTING SURFACE DETERIORATION.
