PROBLEMS IN PRODUCING ROAD CONSTRUCTION PLANS
PROBLEME BEI DER ERARBEITUNG VON STRASSENBAUPLAENEN
IT IS POSSIBLE WITH THE HELP OF MATHEMATICAL MODELS TO ASSESS FUTURE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT WITH TIME. SINCE THESE MODELS ARE OF AN ABSTRACT CHARACTER THEY ONLY TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE SIGNIFICANT MATHEMATICAL RELATION AND CAN ONLY BE INCLUDED IN INTEGRATED TRANSPORTATION PLANNING ON THE BASIS OF CONSIDERABLE POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. IN ADDITION, A DECISION AIDING MODEL IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO SUMMARIZE THE ORDER OF IMPORTANCE OF PLANNING OBJECTIVES. IT MUST BE EMPHASIZED THAT ALREADY IN THE MATHEMATICAL MODEL AND CERTAINLY IN THE DECISION AIDING MODEL, VALUABLE PREDICTIONS ARE INTRODUCED CONCERNING ECONOMIC GROWTH, QUALITY OF LIFE, EQUALITY OF CHANCE, ETC. IT IS POSSIBLE TO FOLLOW POLITICAL OBJECTIVES BY USING FORMATIVE MATHEMATICAL MODELS. DECISION AIDING MODELS ARE CURRENTLY BASED ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY ON COST BENEFIT ANALYSES.
