CONTROL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL SPILLS: PROCEEDINGS OF NATIONAL CONFERENCE, HOUSTON, MARCH 21-23, 1972
Representatives of government, industry, and educational institutions presented 37 papers at the conference held at the University of Houston. Both in-plant and transportation spills are discussed with emphasis on prevention, development of countermeasures, and restoration. The sessions cover protection of the environment form hazardous material spills, prevention of spills in heavy process industries and in the transportation industry, contingency planning for response to hazardous material spills, containment of spilled hazardous materials, detection and identification of spils, treatment systems for water contaminated by hazardous materials, effects of hazardous material spills on the environment, and ecological restoration of waterways. /EPA/
