DAS STAHLTRAGWERK DER HANGBRUECKE ALTERSBERG
THE STEEL SUPERSTRUCTURE OF THIS BRIDGE IS 839 M LONG, WITH 11 SPANS OF 48 TO 90 M WIDTH. IT SUPPORTS THE TAUERN MOTORWAY ALONG THE STEEP ROCKY SLOPES OF THE LIESER VALLEY IN THE FORM OF COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION OF 24.8 M WIDTH. THE TOTAL STEEL STRUCTURE WAS CONSTRUCTED IN THE CANTILEVER FASHION. IN THIS FASHION A LIFTING NIB WAS USED WITH THE AID OF WHICH IT WAS POSSIBLE TO LAY THE STRUCTURE AT ONCE ON ALL PIERS IN THE FINAL POSITION AND WHICH MADE A DANGEROUS AND EXPENSIVE LOWERING PROCEDURE UNNECESSARY.
