MATHEMATICAL DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT TRENDS IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY
UNFALLENTWICKLUNG IN DER BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND - MATHEMATISCH BESCHRIEBEN
ACCIDENT OCCURRENCE DURING RECENT YEARS IN THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY WAS APPROXIMATED BY REGRESSION CURVES. THESE SHOWED THAT NUMBERS OF ACCIDENTS INCREASED LESS THAN NUMBERS OF VEHICLES, AND THAT ACCIDENTS INVOLVING INJURY INCREASED LESS THAN THOSE INVOLVING MATERIAL DAMAGE. THE NUMBER OF PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS REMAINED CONSTANT AND WAS NOT DEPENDENT ON MILES DRIVEN BY ALL VEHICLES.
