MEASUREMENT OF WIND RESISTANCE FACTORS IN CONNECTION WITH WIND PROTECTION MEASURES IN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION

SERIES OF WIND TUNNEL EXPERIMENTS WITH AND WITHOUT WIND PROTECTION MEASURES ARE BEING CARRIED OUT IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER TO DETERMINE THE WIND RESISTANCE VALUES RELATED TO THE CONVENTIONAL DESIGN OF BRIDGE CROSS SECTIONS. BY MEANS OF THE WIND RESISTANCE VALUES AND MEASUREMENTS OF THE SPEEDS OF WIND PREVAILING AT CERTAIN LOCATIONS, HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL AND TWISTING WIND FORCES CAN BE DETERMINED AS A BASIS FOR THE STATIC DESIGN OF BRIDGES OF ANY CROSS SECTION.
