RECOMMENDATIONS FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE METHODS OF TEST FOR CONCRETE - PART 4 - SURFACE HARDNESS METHODS
THE PURPOSE OF THESE RECOMMENDATIONS IS: (1) TO DESCRIBE BRIEFLY THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF THE FUNCTIONING OF HARDNESS MEASURING DEVICES, (2) TO INDICATE THE AREAS OF POSSIBLE APPLICATION, (3) TO SPECIFY THE CONDITIONS OF CONCRETE AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF TEST WHICH INFLUENCE THE INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS AND TO GIVE A QUANTITATIVE INDICATION OF THE MAGNITUDE OF POSSIBLE ERRORS, (4) TO STANDARDISE THE ELEMENTS OF THE PROCEDURE OF CALIBRATION, (5) TO GIVE THE METHOD OF TESTING IN SITU, AND (6) TO RECOMMEND THE LAYOUT OF THE TEST REPORT. /AUTHOR/
