IN THESE CASES THE SEALING MATERIALS SERVE TO PREVENT INGRESS OF WATER UNDER THE PAVING, AND EFFORTS ARE MADE TO ENSURE THAT THESE MATERIALS SHALL REMAIN EFFECTIVE FOR AS LONG AS THE USEFUL LIFE OF THE PAVING. FOR THIS REASON, IN ADDITION TO THE PRESENT TESTS, A DETAILED STUDY OF THE ADHESION BEFORE AND AFTER ARTIFICIAL AGEING IS NECESSARY. IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE TEMPERATURE PERFORMANCE OF THE SEALING MATERIALS, PHYSICAL TESTS WILL BE CARRIED OUT AND THE STRESS/STRAIN DIAGRAMS WILL BE PLOTTED AT 0 DEGREES CENTIGRADE, - 10 DEGREES CENTRIGRADE AND - 20 DEGREES CENTIGRADE.
