PRACTICAL METHOD OF CONDUCTING THE INDIRECT TENSILE TEST
THIS REPORT DESCRIBES A PRACTICAL METHOD OF CONDUCTING THE INDIRECT TENSILE TEST AND A METHOD OF ANALYZING THE TEST RESULTS TO DETERMINE THE TENSILE PROPERTIES OF ALL TYPES OF STABILIZED MATERIALS EXCEPT COHESIONLESS MATERIALS. THE TEST METHODS ARE REPORTED IN TWO PARTS. THE FIRST DESCRIBES THE RELATIVELY SIMPLE EQUIPMENT AND TEST PROCEDURES REQUIRED TO OBTAIN TENSILE STRENGTH. THE SECOND PART DESCRIBES EQUIPMENT, TEST PROCEDURES, AND A METHOD OF ANALYSIS TO DETERMINE POISSON'S RATIO, MODULUS OF ELASTICITY, AND TENSILE STRAINS. /AUTHOR/
