SHEAR CONNECTOR STUDIES ON CURVED GIRDERS
A SERIES OF DESIGN EQUATIONS ARE PRESENTED ALONG WITH A FAILURE CRITERION WHICH WILL PERMIT THE DESIGN OF MECHANICAL SHEAR CONNECTORS FOR CURVED COMPOSITE GIRDERS. THE DESIGN PROCEDURE IS APPLICABLE TO SINGLE SPAN GIRDERS ONLY. THE PROCEDURE IS A SIMPLIFIED, ULTIMATE LOAD DESIGN TECHNIQUE REQUIRING A TRIAL AND ERROR APPROACH. ALTHOUGH THE DESIGN EQUATIONS ARE INTENDED FOR BRIDGE STRUCTURES, OTHER APPLICATIONS ARE POSSIBLE.
