GLASS BEADS FOR TRAFFIC MARKING PAINT
THE PERFORMANCE AND ECONOMY OF A TRAFFIC MARKING PAINT WITH "DROP-ON" BEADS IS EVALUATED AND COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL STRIPING METHODS. THE RESULTS INDICATE THAT "DROP-ON" BEADS GENERALLY GIVE A BETTER NIGHTIME VISIBILITY BUT ARE LOWER IN DURABILITY OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WHEN COMPARED WITH REFLECTORIZED PAINT. HOWEVER, THE BEST PERFORMANCE WAS OBTAINED WITH REFLECTORIZED PAINT AND APPROXIMATELY 2 LBS. OF "DROP-ON" BEADS. /FHWA/
