DETERMINATION OF THE MOISTURE CONTENT IN ROAD CONCRETE BY MEANS OF ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT

BASED ON MEASUREMENTS OF ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY, AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO DEVELOP A METHOD OF DETERMINING AN EXACT RELATION BETWEEN THE MOISTURE CONTENT OF CONCRETE AND THE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY VALUE. PART 1 OF THIS REPORT DISCUSSES PRINCIPLES AND THE METHODS CURRENTLY USED FOR MEASURING HUMIDITY. THE METHOD OF MEASURING ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY, WHICH IS RECOMMENDED FOR THE PRESENT PURPOSE, IS FURTHER DEVELOPED IN PART 2, AND ITS USE ON MORTAR AND CONCRETE SAMPLES IS ILLUSTRATED. PART 3 GIVES EXAMPLES OF THE NUMEROUS APPLICATIONS OF CONCRETE HUMIDITY MEASUREMENT, AND PART 4 CONTAINS RESULTS OF A COLLOQUIUM ON CONCRETE MOISTURE CONTENT. /TRRL/
