DOUBLE POWER LAW FOR BASIC CREEP OF CONCRETE

THE RELATION BETWEEN CREEP, LOADING TIME, AGE OF CONCRETE AND TIME AT WHICH LOADING IS APPLIED CAN BE EXPRESSED BY A LAW WHICH APPLIES ONLY TO CONCRETE NOT EXPOSED TO THE SURROUNDING AIR, BUT IF THE VALUES OF THE MATERIAL PARAMETERS ARE CHANGED, IT CAN ALSO EXPRESS DRYING CREEP AT A GIVEN TIME. THE INTRODUCTION OF THE AGE FUNCTION IN THE EQUATIONS WIDENS THEIR FIELD OF APPLICATION AND INCREASES THE FEASIBILITY OF THE LONG-TERM EXTRAPOLATION OF CREEP DATA. IF IT IS ASSUMED THAT T-T' = 0,001 DAY, THE LAW GIVES ALSO THE CORRECT RELATION BETWEEN THE AGE AND CONVENTIONAL MODULUS OF ELASTICITY (E). IF E WAS REPLACED BY EO, THE AGE FUNCTION OF THE CREEP CURVES OBTAINED BY ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS WOULD GIVE RISE TO A GREATER DISPERSION; THE AGE FUNCTION E SHOULD THEN BE EXPRESSED BY AN INDEPENDENT FORMULA AND MORE MATERIAL PARAMETERS WOULD BE NEEDED TO OBTAIN A GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE TEST RESULTS. THE SIMPLICITY OF THE DOUBLE POWER LAW AFFORDS A MARKED ADVANTAGE FOR THE STATISTICAL EVALUATION OF TEST RESULTS.
