LIMIT ANALYSIS OF GRIDS INCLUDING TORSION
A PROCEDURE IS DEVELOPED WHEREBY THE METHOD OF SUCCESSIVE ELASTIC ANALYSES CAN BE APPLIED TO ULTIMATE STRENGTH DESIGN OF PLANE GRID STRUCTURES EVEN WHEN TORSIONAL EFFECTS ARE INCLUDED. PARTICULAR EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON STEEL STRUCTURES, BUT THE GENERAL PROCEDURE IS APPLICABLE TO REINFORCED CONCRETE GRID STRUCTURES. THE PROCEDURE, WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMMING WITH SIMPLE DATA IMPUTS, IS BASED ON THE LOWER BOUND THEOREM. THE PROCEDURE WAS VERIFIED BY COMPARISON WITH EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS. /AUTHOR/
