PRINCIPAL STRESSES AT THE INTERMEDIATE SUPPORT OF PRESTRESSED CONCRETE CONTINUOUS BEAMS
AT THE INTERMEDIATE SUPPORTS OF CONTINUOUS PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAMS, LARGE CONCENTRATED FORCES EXIST WHICH ARE CAUSED BY THE REACTION AND CABLE CURVATURE. THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD IS USED TO CALCULATE THE PRINCIPAL STRESSES AND THEIR INCLINATION FOR PLOTTING THE STRESS TRAJECTORIES. AN EXAMPLE FOR THE ANALYSIS OF THE ZONE AT THE CENTRAL SUPPORT OF A TWO EQUAL SPAN CONTINUOUS PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAM IS PRESENTED. /AUTHOR/
