THIS RESEARCH IS A CONTINUATION OF PART OF THE RESEARCH DESCRIBED IN IRRD NO 500601. THE OBJECT IS TO ACQUIRE AN EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROBLEMS OF WAVE PROPAGATION IN SOLIDS; - IN ORDER TO DERIVE DATA ON THE LAW OF BEHAVIOUR, - IN ORDER TO TRY TO DEVELOP NEW METHODS OF DYNAMIC NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING. AT THE PRESENT TIME "BRA" TESTS ON CONCRETE ARE BEING CONTINUED. IN ULTRASONIC IMAGERY, THE VISUALIZATION OF ECHOS IN MORTAR SAMPLES WAS SUCCESSFUL. IN 1979 IT IS ENVISAGED: (1) TO CONTINUE "BRA" TESTS ON CONCRETE. (2) TO CONTINUE TO STUDY THEORETICAL DEVELOPMENTS TO FACILITATE THE INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED: DERIVATION OF A SIMPLE MODEL ILLUSTRATING THE BEHAVIOUR OF ALL CRACKS IN COMPRESSION TESTS. (3) TO CONDUCT NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTS ON CABLES: STUDY OF WAVE PROPAGATION IN AERIAL CABLEWAY CABLES.
