24 IMPACT TESTS WITH CARS ONTO UNDERRUN PROTECTORS WERE UNDERTAKEN, WHICH SHOWED THAT THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE IMPACTING CAR AND THE COLLISION FORCES CAN BE TAKEN AS A BASIS FOR EVALUATING THE STRENGTH OF UNDERRUN PROTECTORS. THE ELASTIC STRENGTH OF THE EQUIPMENT USED IN THE IMPACT TESTS WAS DETERMINED IN QUASI-STATIC TESTS AS A BASIS FOR STRENGTH REQUIREMENTS IN A SPECIFICATION.
