YIELD LINE ANALYSIS OF SLABS SUPPORTED ON THREE SIDES

YIELD LINE SOLUTIONS FOR THE COLLAPSE LOAD OF ISOTROPIC AND NON-ISOTROPIC SLABS SUPPORTED ON THREE SIDES WERE OBTAINED. THE LOADING VARIED FROM UNIFORM TO A TRIANGULAR DISTRIBUTION WITH ZERO LOAD AT THE FREE EDGE. THE EFFECTS OF ASPECT RATIO, REINFORCEMENT ARRANGEMENT, AND LOADING ON THE COLLAPSE LOAD WERE STUDIED. MECHANISMS WITH AND WITHOUT CORNER LEVERS WERE STUDIED AND THE REDUCTION IN THE COLLAPSE DUE TO CORNER LEVERS WAS DETERMINED. THE RELATIVE ECONOMY OF VARIOUS REINFORCEMENT ARRANGEMENTS WAS STUDIED.
