EVALUATION OF THE STRESS-STRAIN CURVE OF CONCRETE IN FLEXURE USING METHOD OF LEAST SQUARES
AN ANALYSIS IS DEVELOPED FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE COMPRESSIVE STRESS-STRAIN CURVE OF CONCRETE IN FLEXURE. THE METHOD IS BASED ON USING A "LEAST SQUARES" FIT OF A POLYNOMIAL EXPRESSION TO EXPERIMENTAL DATA FROM REINFORCED OR PRESTRESSED CONCRETE BEAM TESTS. IT IS SHOWN THAT THE METHOD GIVES BETTER CORRELATION WITH EXPERIMENTALLY MEASURED MOMENTS THAN THE FINITE DIFFERENCE ANALYSIS AND CAN BE EASILY ADAPTED TO THE COMPUTER. /ACI/
