IN-SITU AND MODEL STUDIES OF THE EFFICIENCY OF PRESPLITTING

SHCHLEOBRAZOVANIYA NA MODELYAKH I V PROMYSHLEMNYKH EHFFEKTIVNOST' PRIMENENIYA PREDVARITEL'NOGO EKHSPERIMENTAKH

THIS ARTICLE OUTLINES THE RESULTS OF STUDIES OF THE FIELD OF STRESSES ON PHOTOELASTIC MODELS REPRESENTING THE BLASTING OF A ROCK MASS WITH AND WITHOUT PRESPLITTING. AN ANALYSIS IS PRESENTED OF THE INFLUENCE OF PRESPLITTING ON MAXIMUM TANGENTIAL STRESSES IN THE ROCK MASS. THESE RESULTS ARE COMPARED TO SOME OBTAINED IN-SITU. DEFORMATION GRAPHS ARE GIVEN. THE COMPARISON SHOWS GOOD AGREEMENT. A QUANTITATIVE STUDY OF THE EFFICIENCY OF PRESPLITTING FOR QUARRY BLASTING IS CONDUCTED.
