DYNAMIC EFFECTS UPON SUSPENSION BRIDGES UNDER WIND ACTION
THE CHANGES OF DYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF A SUSPENSION BRIDGE, RESULTING FROM THE STATIC WIND PRESSURE, ARE INVESTIGATED. FOR THE LIMITATION OF TORSIONAL VIBRATIONS UNDER THE WIND ACTION, CONSTRUCTION ARRANGEMENTS, CONCERNING THE HORIZONTAL MOUNTING OF STIFFENING GIRDERS OR TRUSSES ARE PROPOSED. THE BENDING TORSIONAL VIBRATIONS OF A SUSPENSION BRIDGE ARE STUDIED ON AN EQUIVALENT SYSTEM OF TWO DEGREES OF FREEDOM WITH TWO DIFFERENT SPRING CONSTANTS, BEING DEPENDENT ON THE INTENSITY OF THE WIND PRESSURE, TRANSFERRED BY THE STIFFENING GIRDERS OR TRUSSES. /RRL/A/
