EFFECTS OF CONCENTRATED LOADS ON LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE
EFFET DE CHARGE CONCENTREE SUR LE BETON LEGER
THIS STUDY IS CONCERNED WITH THE PRACTICAL PROBLEM OF THE ANCHORAGE OF PRESTRESSING CABLES AT THE EXTREMITIES OF A LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE BEAM. SAMPLES OF LIGHTWEIGHT AND NORMAL CONCRETE WILL BE TESTED WITH A VIEW TO ASSESSING THE EFFECTS OF: PERCENTAGE OF STEEL HOOP REINFORCEMENT, DIMENSIONS OF THE ANCHOR LOAD DISTRIBUTION PLATE, AND THE LEVEL OF THE APPLIED PRE-STRESSING. THESE TESTS WILL BE MADE WHEN THE CONCRETE IS 28 DAYS OLD. THE DEFORMATION OF THE REINFORCEMENT AND THE WIDTHS OF CRACKS WILL BE MEASURED.
