TO DETERMINE STRESS STRAIN LAWS FOR LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE. A STUDY OF THE EXISTING LITERATURE WILL ENABLE THE RESULTS OF PREVIOUS EFFORTS IN THIS FIELD TO BE COLLECTED. SIMPLE COMPRESSION TESTS AT A CONSTANT DEFORMATION RATE WILL BE MADE WITH CYLINDRICAL SAMPLES AND THE RESULTS COMPARED WITH THOSE OF THE MORE USUAL TESTS MADE WITH A CONSTANT RATE OF APPLIED LOAD. IT IS THEN PROPOSED TO CARRY OUT ECCENTRIC COMPRESSION TESTS ON SHORT POSTS WITH A VIEW TO DETERMINING THE BEHAVIOUR OF LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE WHEN SUBJECTED TO SIMPLE AND COMPOUND FLEXURAL LOADS. THE NORMAL FORCE-DEFLECTION CURVE WILL BE PLOTTED UP TO THE POINT OF FAILURE.
