COMPUTER ANALYSIS OF NONLINEAR TRUSS-STRUCTURES
A COMPUTERIZED ANALYTICAL APPROACH, USING THE DIRECT STIFFNESS MATRIX METHOD, IS DEVELOPED FOR NONLINEAR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS. THE APPROACH IS LIMITED TO TRUSS-TYPE STRUCTURES HAVING ONE OR MORE MEMBERS STRESSED ABOVE THEIR PROPORTIONAL LIMIT. THE ANALYSIS RESULTS IN STRESSES AND CORRESPONDING STRAINS IN ALL MEMBERS AS WELL AS IN NODE DEFLECTIONS OF THE STRUCTURE. EXAMPLES ARE SOLVED AND RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH PREVIOUS EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS. /ASCE/
